THE POSITION: We have an exciting opportunity within our Customer Experience Team for an enthusiastic and capable Senior Library Assistant to provide customer service and professional library services and support, managing requests and enquiries from Library customers and other stakeholders to continuously create a positive customer experience outcome.

The position will contribute to the delivery of key projects which will require basic research, planning, delivery and evaluation. It will also involve managing and/or coordinating of Council systems, programs or events, and liaising with both external and internal stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.

ESSENTIAL:

The Position will:

  • Need a motivated professional to provide an efficient and effective library and information service to meet the needs of the community across our 5 libraries – Whitlam Library Cabramatta, Fairfield Library, Bonnyrigg Library, Wetherill Park and Smithfield Community Library.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working and customer relationships.
  • Perform customer service duties with a focus on creating a positive customer experience outcome.
  • Apply initiative, be a strong team player and problem solve on issues encountered in day-to-day activities and in the response to customers’ requests and issues to determine and implement an appropriate course of action.
  • Have administration skills to manage and maintain information and library management systems.
  • Be required to work within a library roster, including evening and weekends.
  • Have a Certificate III in Library and Information Services as a minimum or experience in a library environment.
  • Need a valid Class 3 Driver’s Licence, and a willingness to drive.

SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

  • Temporary position for a period of up to 6months, 70 hours per fortnight
  • This position is a Grade 3, salary range is $68,436 p.a. with progression to $73,699 p.a. on demonstrated competencies, with performance progression to $80,166 p.a. plus 12% Super
  • Flexible working hours are available.
  • A penalty rate in lieu of weekend work
  • A uniform is provided

THE POSITION:

Fairfield City Open Libraries is seeking a creative and community focused Programs and Engagement Officer to join our Library team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role plays a key part in delivering high quality programs that support literacy, lifelong learning, cultural engagement, and recreation across our five library branches. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the cultural, educational, and recreational experiences of our diverse and vibrant community.

As the Programs and Engagement Officer, you’ll work collaboratively to design and deliver programs for people of all ages. This includes activities that enhance digital skills and promote STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) learning, as well as programs that integrate digital technology, creativity, and literacy. ESSENTIAL:

  • Tertiary degree qualifications which confer eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association, or equivalent, and proven experience developing and delivering programs and events in a Library environment.
  • Demonstrated excellence in program delivery and event coordination.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and evaluation of programs and staff training.
  • Demonstrated understanding of program marketing trends and event booking systems.
  • Proven ability to engage with internal and external partners and communicate respectfully and effectively with people of all ages and from diverse backgrounds, cultures and abilities
  • Proven ability to provide excellence in customer service, with the ability to confidently and proactively engage with library customers and value-add to the library customer experience.
  • Demonstrated effective time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to balance competing workloads and deliver within deadlines.
  • Current high level digital literacy skills, with the confidence to support customers with diverse technology. This includes online and virtual collections and services across multiple devices, platforms, apps and software.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment that requires flexibility of shifts, locations and commitment to implementing a positive workplace culture
  • Experience in contributing to improvements to a quality management system or suggestions for other business improvements.
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence - Class 3, and preparedness to drive
  • Possess a valid NSW “Working with Children Check” number.

About the role

An exciting opportunity has become available to join Merri-bek Libraries. This is a permanent part-time role working across three of Merri-bek’s largest libraries at Glenroy, Coburg and Brunswick.

The Customer Service Library Technician role is responsible for providing high-quality customer service and targeted library and information services to our diverse community. This role includes digital literacy assistance and other library initiatives to bridge the digital divide, assistance with library events and activities, and shift supervision of library officers when the most senior staff member available.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about libraries and able to provide proactive customer service to our library patrons.

This is an ongoing Saturday morning position involving customer service, collection maintenance and IT help. Experience in STEM and program support/delivery would be beneficial but is not essential.

  • Experience working in an RFID environment.

About the Position

City of Onkaparinga Libraries are seeking a creative and customer focused communicator to join our team.  We’re looking for a Library Officer – Marketing to bring our library services to life by implementing and maintaining the Library Marketing Plan, developing targeted campaigns and overseeing promotional activities.  You will play a key role in promoting the value of libraries to the community and enhancing customer visitation and engagement across our six library sites. 

While initial location of work is Noarlunga Library, appointment is to the City of Onkaparinga Library Service and location of work may vary.  Additionally, weekend and evening work will be required.   

About You

You are a proactive and innovative communicator with an understanding of the key role that libraries play in building informed, connected communities.  You’re digitally savvy, collaborative, and comfortable juggling multiple projects. Whether it’s writing a social media post, coordinating a campaign, or supporting a library customer, you bring energy, creativity, and professionalism to everything you do.

Key Selection Criteria:

  1. Experience in marketing, communications, or a related field, ideally within a library or community focused environment.
  2. Proven ability to implement and maintain marketing plans and deliver targeted campaigns
  3. Strong understanding of social media platforms and content creation
  4. Ability to manage time, plan and prioritise projects and tasks and organize work to meet deadlines
  5. Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to the role libraries play in supporting all forms of literacy and lifelong learning
