Library Officer – Marketing

City of Onkaparinga–Noarlunga Centre SA

Part time working 49.4 hours per fortnight – 2 year contract

About the Position

City of Onkaparinga Libraries are seeking a creative and customer focused communicator to join our team.  We’re looking for a Library Officer – Marketing to bring our library services to life by implementing and maintaining the Library Marketing Plan, developing targeted campaigns and overseeing promotional activities.  You will play a key role in promoting the value of libraries to the community and enhancing customer visitation and engagement across our six library sites. 

While initial location of work is Noarlunga Library, appointment is to the City of Onkaparinga Library Service and location of work may vary.  Additionally, weekend and evening work will be required.   

About You

You are a proactive and innovative communicator with an understanding of the key role that libraries play in building informed, connected communities.  You’re digitally savvy, collaborative, and comfortable juggling multiple projects. Whether it’s writing a social media post, coordinating a campaign, or supporting a library customer, you bring energy, creativity, and professionalism to everything you do.

Key Selection Criteria:

  1. Experience in marketing, communications, or a related field, ideally within a library or community focused environment.
  2. Proven ability to implement and maintain marketing plans and deliver targeted campaigns
  3. Strong understanding of social media platforms and content creation
  4. Ability to manage time, plan and prioritise projects and tasks and organize work to meet deadlines
  5. Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to the role libraries play in supporting all forms of literacy and lifelong learning
