The role 

We are seeking a technical specialist to oversee and optimise the library's digital resources. This role involves managing access, ensuring user satisfaction and aligning with strategic objectives. Responsibilities include managing digital collections, monitoring budgets and spending, providing technical support, training staff and collaborating with stakeholders to promote and expand digital services. The ideal candidate will drive continuous improvement and enhance user engagement. 

Duties will include but not be limited to: 

  • Manage the acquisition, curation and development of digital collections, aligning them with strategic goals and user needs.  
  • Monitor the financial management of digital collections, including, tracking expenditures and preparing spending reports.  
  • Provide expert technical support to enhance platform access, resolve complex issues and drive technical innovation for a seamless user experience. 
  • Conduct detailed analysis of usage metrics and user feedback to inform data-driven strategic decisions that improve service quality and user experience.  
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with digital content policies, including licensing agreements and accessibility standards. 
  • Design, implement and deliver comprehensive staff training programs to enhance competency in digital collections and platforms. 
  • Act as a back-up for the Technical Specialist eMarketing to ensure the library’s digital communication channels are accessible and interactive to enhance user engagement.

You will have 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Management or Library Science that are eligible for membership of the Australian Library and Information Association or qualifications or experience relevant to the key accountabilities stated. 
  • Working With Children Check. 
  • Extensive experience in managing and optimising digital collections within a public library or similar environment. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial management, including budgeting, reporting and aligning resources with community needs. 
  • Proven ability to deliver technical support and troubleshoot complex digital access issues. 
  • Experience in developing and delivering staff training programs. 
  • Ability to apply data insights to improve service quality and user experience. 
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with policies and standards. 
  • Strong organisational, multitasking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in data management.  
  • Excellent ability to work independently in fast-paced environments with high-level communication skills. 

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $80,293 (Grade F, Step1) + 12% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.

About this role: 

  • 1x Permanent, full-time position
  • Working 70 hours per fortnight, on a roster from Monday to Sunday. This position has access to Council's 9 day fortnight Rostered Day Off (RDO) arrangement.

Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.

About the Opportunity
The officer will support the delivery of an efficient public library service for the Mildura Rural City community. Key responsibilities include providing rural outreach services, safely and punctually driving the library vehicle to various locations, and supporting engagement services such as outreach programs and communications.

What you will bring
Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:

  • Experience working in a library environment
  • Experience working in the area of customer service
  • Experience in the provision of programs for all ages
  • Ability to use computer technology, Office software and the Internet
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence
  • Ability to obtain a valid Working with Children Check
  • Ability to obtain a valid National Police Check.

Salary and Conditions
The position is classified within Band 4 of Council’s Current Enterprise Agreement ranging from $70,611 to $75,498 per annum plus statutory superannuation.

About the role

The Content and Collections Librarian provides high level support for the Library Content and Collections Coordinator in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of innovative, high-performing and accessible library content and collections for Ipswich Libraries. 

With a strong focus on collection management, this role operates in a collaborative team responsible for delivering library content, collections, the Home Library service, interlibrary loans and Picture Ipswich.  This position plays a key role in supporting all library sections in the delivery and management of collections across a variety of formats and delivery platforms.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and optimize public library collections using Library Management Software and technology
  • Provide expert advice on cataloguing standards, copyright, privacy, and licensing
  • Analyse and report on library system efficiency and trends
  • Contribute to both routine and strategic projects and initiatives
  • Develop and refine policies and procedures to support continuous improvement
  • Maintain effective supplier relationships to ensure service quality and efficiency

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in a related field and/or demonstrated technical experience in library content and collection operations
  • Current Queensland C Class Driver’s Licence
  • Substantial experience in Public Library Collection management
  • Experience in using one or more types of library management software
  • Sound level of proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools such as MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
  • High attention to detail and a solutions-based mindset with an appetite for solving interesting problems
  • Belief in our values of safety and wellbeing, communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency, and leadership

About the Role
YPRL is currently seeking a permanent part-time Officer Reading, Learning & Community presently located at Thomastown, Mill Park & Whittlesea Library, however, you will be required to work at any other YPRL sites when required. 
Our Officers provide a high standard of service to Yarra Plenty Regional Library customers and to the wider community.  

About the Ideal Candidate: 
Our Library Officers provide a high standard of service to Yarra Plenty Regional Library customers and to the wider community.   
The ideal candidate for this position will possess strong customer service skills. They will need to be able to communicate effectively with all library users and members of the community, including the ability to interact with both children and their parents.  The successful incumbents will provide a high level of customer focus and will actively encourage enthusiasm for reading in children.  They should actively encourage a love for reading through reader advisory and prioritise customer satisfaction.  Adaptability, flexibility, and a positive team-oriented approach are essential qualities we are looking for in the successful candidate.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Providing courteous and effective communication with all customers to provide an efficient and timely service based on good knowledge of library products and services.
  • Maintaining a high level of customer focus by responding to customer needs, assisting with promotional activities, functions and displays, providing basic reference information and participating in the provision of community engagement services to grow library membership and usage 
  • Performing a range of library operations that support customers in a self serve environment, including circulation and collection maintenance duties as directed.
  • Actively contributing to a positive team environment by supporting the branch in achieving day to day operations, active participation in planning and staff meetings, attendance at training and through advocacy for branch and regional development 
  • Contributing to the role of the library as a place for reading, learning, and meeting
