Library Trainee

Gladstone Regional Council is proud to help facilitate the upskilling of our region in a diverse range of roles and across a variety of Council locations. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an organisation that is committed to delivering outstanding service to our community. 

Council has an opportunity to appoint a maximum-term full time Library Trainee to contribute to Council’s success. This traineeship opportunity is for an 18-month period to undertake a Certificate III Library and Information Services and is based at Gladstone Library. The employment contract will commence on Monday 11 January 2027.

About the role

In this role you’ll gain hands on experience supporting our day to day library operations, helping the community with their general enquiries. You will develop practical skills and knowledge including cataloguing tools, processing loans and returns, and maintaining information resources. You will also learn how to use social media tools to connect with the community. Join a welcoming team, where experienced professionals will mentor you and support your development.
