Are you a creative, community – focused leader with a passion for libraries, children’s literacy and children’s and youth programming?

Waverley Council is looking for a dynamic Team Leader – Library  Children and Young People, to lead the planning and delivery of innovative programs, events and workshops to for the children and youth of our community.

 What you’ll be doing

  •  Develop and deliver innovative, high-quality library services that inspire, engage and support children, teens, and families.
  • Lead and support a dynamic team delivering programs and services for children and young people.
  • Drive service excellence through innovation, collaboration, and community engagement
  • Build strong partnerships with community organisations to enhance service reach and impact.

 What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualification in Library and Information Studies or other relevant area of study/experience.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a children’s library setting, project management and staff supervision, with proven capacity to lead and develop staff.
  • Demonstrated experience in children’s programming/education.
  • Proven ability to embrace change and engage, lead and inspire others to achieve outcomes for the benefit of the organisation and community.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills with strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to deal with difficult customers.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
