The Position

This position leads a team of staff providing exciting and welcoming services to the young people of the Cockburn Community and their families.

The Person

The Library Service is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person to coordinate Young People’s Services for Cockburn Libraries across the three branch libraries - someone with a passion for engaging with young people from babies to toddlers, from children to teens – and providing services, events and programmes that encourage them to love reading, learning, creating and visiting their local libraries!

We want to hear from you if you have a great understanding of collections that inspire and engage children and families as well as the collections and programmes which enrich early literacy development.  Our successful applicant will also have recognised tertiary qualifications, eligibility for membership with the Australian Library and Information Association and a valid Working with Children card.  Also essential are sound knowledge of library practice and demonstrated ability to deliver programs for young people.  

Hours: This role is being offered a on a full-time basis at 76 hours per fortnight including regular evening work.  There may be the requirement to work Saturdays -both morning and afternoon.   This position is required to work across all three library locations and for this a Driver’s Licence is required. 

Salary: $94,455 - $104,959 per annum dependent upon skills and experience.
