Library Support Officer

PART TIME - 21 hours per week

North Sydney Council administers the North Sydney local government area on Sydney’s picturesque lower North Shore. Our 400 employees look after 77,000 residents spread across 10 square kilometres of land on the foreshores of Sydney Harbour providing spectacular harbour views, beautiful parklands and a bustling CBD.

The role 

We're seeking a highly organised and proactive Library Support Officer to provide administrative and operational support to our experienced library team. You will coordinate a wide range of administrative, financial and operational activities, including procurement, invoice processing, room hire bookings, records management, and facility maintenance coordination. 

Working closely with staff, contractors, community groups and customers, you will help ensure the smooth delivery of quality library services, community programs and events. 

The person

You are an organised and proactive administrator with strong communication and customer service skills. Experienced in office administration and financial processes, you can effectively manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

You enjoy building positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, take initiative to solve problems, and are committed to providing high-quality support to a team.

It is an essential requirement of this role that a Working with Children Check (WWCC) is conducted. It is an offence under NSW legislation for barred workers to apply for or otherwise attempt to obtain, undertake or remain in child-related employment. 

Hourly rate from: $41.76 to $49.87 per hour + transport allowance + 12% superannuation 

21 hours per week

Flexibility around working days, however must be available on Mondays for weekly finance reporting.
