About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Collection Development Librarian to manage and curate our library collection. This position will seek to understand industry trends as well as customer interests and preferences to ensure the collection remains relevant, engaging and diverse. The position will also play a pivotal role in refining our collection systems to enable efficiencies, ease of use and ongoing accessibility to the community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ongoing selection and acquisition of new stock, removal of dated and damaged stock, and the development of relationships with suppliers to ensure a well curated collection
- Develop and analyse reports to evaluate collection relevancy, interest and usage
- Contribute to strategic planning, policy and procedural development and implementation
- Monitor library and publishing trends, best practices in collection management and developments in the profession
- Implementation of sustainability, diversity and inclusion best practices and principles
What are we looking for?
To be successful in this role you will possess relevant tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Science (or equivalent) with demonstrated experience in collection management. You will have strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively prioritise and problem solve to achieve positive outcomes, with a focus on continuous improvement.
