At the City of Armadale, we’re not just about books — we’re about community, connection and creating a welcoming space for all. Our brand-new, state-of-the-art library is a vibrant hub for people from all walks of life, and we’re looking for a Circulation Clerk who loves frontline customer service and wants to be part of something meaningful.

About the Role

As a Circulation Clerk, you’ll be one of the first faces people see when they walk into the library — and the reason they leave with a smile.

You'll:

  • Create a warm, inclusive experience for every customer at the front desk
  • Help customers with borrowing, reservations, memberships and questions
  • Support events, promotions and community programs
  • Maintain accurate records and support circulation operations behind the scenes
  • Play a part in outreach and engagement activities that take the library into the community

It’s a role where no two days are the same — from processing returns to helping someone discover their next favourite book or digital resource.

About You

You’re someone who:

  • Genuinely enjoys working with people and brings a positive, flexible attitude
  • Has strong customer service skills and handles challenging interactions with calm and care
  • Is organised, tech-savvy and detail-focused
  • Works well in a team, including with volunteers
  • Has a C-Class Driver’s Licence and can obtain a National Police Clearance

Joining our team means embracing a culture where we look after ourselves, and each other. We actively listen and give and receive constructive feedback. We build and strengthen resilience, in ourselves, in our organisation, and in the community. We are mindful of our impacts and encouraged to make responsible and sustainable decisions.
