The Acquisitions Officer assists with the maintenance and monitoring of library collections with a focus on the print collection, to ensure the library is offering the latest resources and meeting the needs of our customers. The role assists with the effective delivery of library operations by working across and supporting the Library’s adult lending, children’s, reference and information, public programs, technical services and venue hire/administrative sections. It is also a customer facing role, responsible for responding to patron enquiries and research requests, and assisting customers with the use of library resources and facilities.
To be considered, you need tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience as a librarian or library technician. You will need to have solid knowledge in delivering Readers Advisory, Reference and Children’s Services, with a general knowledge and interest in books and reading and a strong commitment to delivering quality customer service.
To meet the needs of our customers, Waverley library opening hours include evenings and weekends and this position covers a range of shifts over a three week roster cycle.
