An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced Community Engagement & Information Library Service Coordinator to join our team in Vision Australia Library based at Kooyong.

Responsibilities 

As a Community Engagement & Information Library Service Coordinator at Vision Australia you will: 

• Develop and implement comprehensive strategies, project briefs and programs for community engagement and service wide marketing and promotion.
• Manage the partnerships with public libraries, educational institutions, community groups and allied organisations, including the development and delivery of comprehensive training programs to enable partners to provide active support.
• Coordinate the delivery of library outreach programs and presentations to ensure appropriate and adequate staffing.
• Develop Library marketing collateral in line with the VA branding story
• Arrange and supervise volunteers to assist with identified supporting tasks within the Community Engagement functions.
• Manage the Procedures and Work Instructions for the Community Engagement functions.
• Contribute to the development and application of the annual business plan in order to support and meet the Vision Australia strategic plan.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Minimum requirement is eligibility for Associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association with relevant experience in coordinating community engagement and marketing functions within a wider library environment.
• Public library experience and good understanding of PLVN and the public library structure/ funding and focus in Vic, NSW and other states.
• Experience in networking and building partnerships and attracting new members to our library community.
• Understanding of PLVN specialist programs such as the “libraries change lives” program.
• Experience in designing, delivering and managing successful partnerships and marketing campaigns.
• Experience in designing and hosting successful community engagement events.
• High level skills in developing engaging and positive return marketing collateral.
• Skills in using and promoting services via Social Media, particularly Twitter and Facebook.
• Strong presentation skills with the ability and experience in speaking to large and small groups in a confident and friendly way
• Able to demonstrate and teach technology face to face and over the phone to a wide range of people in positive clear way.
• Have the ability to answer questions on the spot relating to library and general VA issues.
• Proven ability to coordinate and oversee successful staff and volunteers at community engagement events and promotions
