Invitation to Sponsors

Public Libraries Australia (PLA) is delighted to extend an invitation to the many suppliers and sponsors who support public libraries across the nation to partner in the 2007 Public Libraries Australia Conference to be held in Adelaide from 5-7 August 2007.

The inaugural PLA Conference was held in Albury (NSW) in November 2005. The event was well attended by public library stakeholders from across Australia and received high praise from conference delegates, suppliers and sponsors.

The 2007 PLA Conference, Public Libraries Building Balance, is being presented by Public Libraries South Australia in conjunction with Public Libraries Australia, and supported by ALIA—a major PLA partner.

The conference will be held in Adelaide at the Adelaide Convention Centre—an excellent venue— and will feature a program that focuses on current and future issues for the public library sector. Early indications are that the conference will attract attendees from all states of Australia, with a great deal of enquiry already forthcoming.

The Conference Organising Committee is also very excited about the level of enquiry from suppliers and sponsors at this early stage – even prior to the official release of conference details!

Information provided on the following pages details the partnership opportunities available for suppliers and sponsors.

As well as the traditional “trade exhibition” approach to supplier and sponsor promotion, PLA is also offering you an opportunity to be part of the conference, mingle with your customers, and make presentations direct to the conference audience through sponsorship of various elements of the conference.

We hope you will enjoy this innovative proposal, and invite you to contact the Sponsorship Sub-Committee at your earliest convenience to ensure that you secure your preferred partnership opportunity at this important public library sector event.

Yours faithfully

Robert Knight
Chairperson – Public Libraries Australia Ltd.

SPONSORSHIP PROPOSAL

The Public Libraries Australia Conference 2007 Organising Committee takes great pleasure in offering the following partnership opportunities to library suppliers and sponsors at the Public Libraries Australia Conference 2007.

Details of the conference are as follows:

 Title: Public Libraries Building Balance

 Dates: Sunday 5th—Tuesday 7th August 2007

Venue: Adelaide Convention Centre, North Terrace, Adelaide

It is anticipated that in excess of 250 library staff from all over Australia will be in attendance.

The Conference Organising Committee has taken an innovative approach to the participation of sponsors and suppliers at the PLA Conference. In addition to the traditional “trade display” exhibition area, we are offering you the opportunity to attend the conference, mingle with delegates, and address the conference audience. Alternatively, there are booths available in the traditional trade exhibition area where all meals will be provided to conference delegates to ensure maximum engagement with suppliers.
